Detox and Illness

Let me begin by saying...I feel like a bus ran over me. I confess that although it may be possible to detox when one is sick, I, for one, do not want to do it! So last night, when faced with the dinner question (after being in bed all day and not eating), I chose to eat a small portion of homemade chicken pot pie (my mother cooked) rather than vegetables. I had my oh-so-tasty, gritty shake for a snack later in the evening. Today I"m back on the wagon. I started with a shake for breakfast, a Granny apple for snack, salad for lunch and vegetables for dinner. At work they had a birthday celebration and brought in pizza. I left the office so I would steer clear of that! Well, I'm going to down some more pharmaceuticals and go to bed!

Detox and Travel

I confess it's been too long since my last post. I found that it is much too difficult to find time for myself much less sit and type. Also it takes me way too long to write what I want to say because I write and edit and then edit some more. Last time I attempted a post, I didn't like what I'd written so I closed the computer and went to bed Anyway... I had intended to journal my way through my detox but that hasn't happened so let me give you a couple of titles of posts that I intended to write. "Detox is Expensive" or " How much did my groceries cost???" "Are you sure all this fiber is good for me?" "Detoxing in Dallas" "Detox or Donut?" "Fruit or French Fries?" Maybe someday I'll get around to writing on those topics. On second thought, probably not. So on to the topic for today...detox and travel. I had scheduled a trip to Savannah for Monday, Sept 17 about a month back but had forgotten to get my tra...

Detox Day?

I started my detox this morning by making a less than yummy shake of blueberries, unsweetened almond milk, Intest Restore, Pomegranate powder, Stevia and vanilla extract. Jim decided to detox with me so I made him a shake, too. He nearly threw up twice before church. When we got to church, I asked my friend if she started her detox...when she said no, I was relieved! My mother-in-law was making brisket and I wanted some! I confess...during church I decided since I was going to eat poorly after church tonight, I would wait and start the detox tomorrow. So needless to say, my plans to buy vegetables for lunch quickly dissipated when I suggested to Jim that we go to Olive Garden for lunch! Yikes. I confess...I ordered the never-ending pasta bowl. The craziness of it all is that I went full knowing I was going to eat more than I should and yet I still ordered. Why is that? I did order water rather than soda but that's hardly an accomplishment. I ordered salad with the dressing on the s...
